5 Things the made me think

Number six

I am not impressed with the political candidates. None of them really have education on the front burner. NCLB is hurting more students than it is helping and I hope the next president realizes this and makes changes for the good of the children and not to make him/her sound like they care. Technology is making students out of shape and losing the ability to use imagination. Students think imagination is what makes video games so exciting. They are exciting, but it is other peoples imaginations that is entertaining them not their own.

My website

I have to brag that my site is my favorite. I am sure I could have made it much better if I had devoted the time to it. I am planning on using this site in the future and I will make it much better. I have included all the things that make me, me.

Favorite classmate sites

I really like Amber Stoecklein’s site. She has gotten the hang of putting her site together. The way she organized the site makes it easy to navigate.
Amber Simon’s website was pretty cool too. Her navigation ease makes her site a pleasure to be on.
Täna Gustafson’s site was organized pretty well. I really enjoyed looking around and finding out things that I didn’t know.

I really liked all the sites. It brought out things in the students that they may have not let be known.

Favorite Podcast Presenter

The Tech Teachers were my favorite presenters. This couple is married and both are teachers in high school. One is a Mac user and the other uses a PC. All their podcasts have them comparing different kinds of software and voicing their opinions.

What tools will I use in the future?

May 11, 2008 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

I really like ToonDoo like I mentioned earlier. This tool will allow students to take a serious subject matter and make light of it. Students have trouble communicating and this tool will help them. Podcasting can be a great tool depending on the district you work in. Supplying students with the necessary tools for podcasting will be the biggest thing you face.

5 Things that made me think

The number one thing I liked about this course was making my website. I thought it was harder than it actually was and with more practice and time to give I am sure I could make my site much better.
The second thing I learned is I hate my voice. This is the one thing I found out that I didn’t know. It was kind of fun making the voice thread, but things went bad when I was in the process of finishing (OK, starting) podcasts. My microphone quit working and I was in a panic. I had to reboot and it started working, but it was too late.
The third thing I learned was if registering for 1,000 different sites, keep a record book!!
The fourth thing I was wowed about was toondoo. I love this and intend to use it in the future. I believe students could have and learn a great deal with this tool.
The fifth thing I learned was to not be afraid of the unknown. The internet and computers are very scary things, but if you take the time to look into things before just jumping into it, then there is nothing to be afraid of.
